We're excited to announce that AI bootcamp XIII is scheduled for Dec 8 to Dec 11 in Resnick 120. This bootcamp is designed to provide the mathematical background (Linear Algebra and Probability Theory)  for  researchers who want to grasp fundamental ML concepts and explore the potential of integrating ML into their research.

Linear Algebra and Probability Theory are prerequisites for understanding how ML works and utilizing ML more effectively. We are glad that we can offer this short course now.

What to Expect:

  • Daily Structure: Each day will feature one to two lectures, complemented by two or more practical, hands-on sessions.
  • Topics Covered: Linear Algebra basics, projections, vector calculus, optimization, probability theory, Bayesian statistics, density estimation.
  • Objective: Our goal is to equip you with the necessary background and skills to be prepared for taking other AI bootcamp courses that delve into ML foundations to allow you incorporate ML tools into your research and to aid your ability to explore more advanced ML techniques independently

Joining the Bootcamp:

  • Availability: Limited to 30  participants.
  • Registration: Sign up using this link before 12 AM Pacific Time on Dec 6th . This course doesn't have any math prerequisites except familiarity with multivariable calculus.

Prerequisites:

To maximize your learning experience, familiarity with the following is required:

  • Multivariable Calculus: Partial derivatives, integration, limits, and continuity. Covered in Ma1ac
  • Python Programming: Basic syntax and libraries. Covered in CS1.  We will cover NumPy and other important libraries during the first day.

Certificates:

For those who complete all the hands-on notebooks successfully, a certificate will be issued.
