Kerry Vahala Receives Charles Hard Townes Medal

Kerry Vahala, Ted and Ginger Jenkins Professor of Information Science and Technology and Applied Physics; Executive Officer for Applied Physics and Materials Science, is the recipient of the Charles Hard Townes Medal from the Optica Foundation, which is given in recognition of contributions to quantum electronics. Professor Vahala's award is for pioneering contributions to the development and application of optical microresonators and nonlinear optical oscillator.
